Being an edupreneur means creating a new capacity. It could be a new tool or a new school, a new way to learn or a new way to share. Some teach, some lead, some fix, edupreneurs start something new. Impact is my second criteria is impact: measurable benefit for students and teachers. That implies a scalable and sustainable capacity.

Fostering an Entrepreneurial Mindset in Engineers

According to Jim Rahn, president of the foundation, said Lawrence Tech “really embraced the program making it mission central.” Their goal is to prepare students “not only to compete within an industry but to lead it.”

Why Education Should Be Free
For most, the single greatest barrier to accessing higher education is cost. In the last decade, tuition has skyrocketed across the United States. Crippling student loan debt in America has now surpassed a staggering $1 trillion. Many students find the return on investment just isn’t there and they’re walking away from college without graduating, disenfranchised and deeply in debt. The international community is even less likely to attend college, with less than five percent of the world’s population ever achieving post-secondary education of any kind.

Despite Bad News, Progress is Possible
I have a hard time watching evening news--especially in the last few weeks--the headlines are hard to swallow. You can’t help but assume that things are getting worse. It’s depressing. But the news doesn’t give you an accurate picture of the long term trends that are making life better for more people on this planet.
