JEE Releases Guest Editorial On Accelerating STEM Capacity

The Journal of Engineering Education (JEE) released “Accelerating STEM Capacity: A Complex Adaptive System Perspective,” a guest editorial by Rick Stephens and Michael Richey of the Boeing Company this July.
The paper explores the major problems that the U.S. faces – an education system that inadequately prepares students for the future workforce and a lack of people skilled for the positions of the future.
The paper looks at learning models, the educational system and the activities required to develop student outcomes strong in critical thinking, creativity, innovation and knowledge to fill the jobs in the areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) in the future.
