K12 Inc. and Blackboard Work Together to Provide Quality Developmental Education

BlackboardTV released a video July 28, 2011 featuring K12 Inc.’s Vice President Gregg Levin discussing the unique partnership between K12 Inc. and Blackboard to provide quality developmental education for students in primary and secondary education.

Levin outlines the main benefits to this partnership as providing complementary programs for students that combine quality online curriculums offered by K12 Inc. and the online learning technologies provided by Blackboard.
This partnership is unique because it provides the added-benefits of online learning, which include the following:

  • access to learning at students’ own pace
  • tailored curriculum for students’ and institutions’ needs, and
  • increased continuity between K-12 education and higher education.

Levin talks about how online learning and credit recovery is developing demand in the K-12 market for students who are at-risk for dropping out or disengaged from their learning. Online learning has proven to be successful for students who are at-risk in the traditional “Brick and Mortar” setting by keeping them engaged in their education and completing courses to graduation.
