Pahara and Aspen Institutes Announce Spring 2014 Cohorts
Last week, the Pahara Institute in association with the Aspen Institute announced their selection of 24, Spring 2014 cohorts for their highly selective Pahara-Aspen Education Fellows Program.
The 24 innovative leaders will participate in a two year program that allows them to step back from their daily work to reflect with peers on a collective goal to “dramatically improve” public schools for low income communities and children. Cohorts are challenged to think beyond traditional boundaries and develop forward leaning strategies that enhance their leadership skills.
During their two year commitment, the two-dozen education superstars will participate in moderated seminars, events, projects, and readings. At the end of the fellowship, participants will become part of the prestigious Aspen Global Leadership Network; a growing group of nearly 1,600 leaders from 45 countries. This network is joined together to support in efforts large and small with a goal of making the world a better place.
When asked about his selection as the newest cohort, Curriculum Associates’ CEO Rob Waldron said, “I am honored to have been chosen to join such an esteemed group of education leaders as part of the Pahara-Aspen Education Fellowship. As a veteran of the nonprofit and private sectors, and as someone who works every day with teachers and administrators in public schools across the country, I believe strongly that we must break down the barriers between the different sectors in education to make real change for students in this country. This joint venture between the Aspen Institute and Pahara Institute allows us to learn from each other in a way that fosters collaboration and true community. I can’t wait to get started.”
Congrats to all 24 of the newest leaders! For more information see the full press release by clicking here.
