Vote! American Pioneer of Teaching Award

You may have seen our infographic on blended learning and the teaching profession, and in advance of National Teacher Appreciation Week, many of our partners in edreform are recognizing innovative approaches to teaching. Next week, with Digital Learning Now! we’ll release our conditions and careers paper, focused on improving the teaching condition.
PublicSchoolOptions.org President Beth Purcell, a parent and former teacher, announced the organization’s annual American Pioneer of Teaching Award contest here in a guest post.  After narrowing the nominations down to 10 innovative finalists, they have turned the competition over to the online community to vote for the winner on Facebook.
The annual competition is held to recognize excellence in teaching among educators at charter, virtual and magnet schools. Voting is open until May 2 at 5:00PM ET so take a minute over the next two days to read about the 10 finalists from across the country and cast a vote for one of these innovative and pioneering teachers.   The winner will be announced on May 6 during National Teacher Appreciation Week!
For more information see Purcell talk about her experience as a teacher and mother of two public charter school students in a video announcing this launch of the 2013 award competition.
