SendHub Announces Shared Groups For Increased Collaboration

The fast-growing professional communication service SendHub announced this week Shared Groups, a new feature that will allow users to have a fast and simple way to share a group of contacts with others.
“Teaching, by definition, is a collaborative profession and shared groups is a perfect feature for the education space. SendHub’s original goal was to enable teachers to reach every parent and student – no matter the zip code in which they reside. This new feature moves us closer to arming teachers around the country with a simple communication tool that just works – with no extra hassle,” said Garrett Johnson, Co-founder of SendHub.
“We’re really excited about the new shared groups feature. The Officers at the Fire Department have been asking about it every week. They want to be able to message every firefighter at once,” said Chris Decker, Firefighter, North Lenoir County, NC Fire and Rescue.
Shared Groups is much like a shared folder in Dropbox, says SendHub. Users can share client and colleague contact information across organizations. Changes made by just one person appear for all users with simple permissions.
SendHub says this will benefit organizations, businesses, and schools using the platform for communication between specific demographic groups. In schools in particular, Shared Groups will help teachers and administrators manage and share parent and student contact databases easily and quickly.
SendHub has seen a 300 percent in the number of active users and a 500 percent increase in the number of messages sent by users since July. SendHub is a Y-Combinator graduate, and is backed by Menlo Ventures, Kapor Capital, 500 startups, the Seraph Group, Paul Buchheit, Eric Ries, Jawed Karim and Jeb Bush.
“Our mission here at SendHub is to offer fast and simple communication tools that anyone – from a teacher to a business owner – can use,” said Peter Walters, Direction of Public Relations and Community at SendHub. “Shared Groups eliminates a lot of the hassle involved with managing contact data, so it’s a big step forward.”
