About
The School of Industrial Design, Engineering, and Art (iDEA), located in Tacoma, Washington, is a public high school within the Tacoma Public Schools district. iDEA offers students a unique educational experience that integrates industrial design, engineering, and the arts into a comprehensive curriculum.
iDEA provides a variety of course pathways that allow students to explore their interests in design, engineering, and art. The curriculum emphasizes project-based learning, critical thinking, and real-world problem-solving skills. Students have the opportunity to engage in courses such as Sustainable and Environmental Engineering and Design, Digital Media Production, Photography, and Green Architecture and Design.
The school is committed to ensuring every student has a plan and pathway following high school graduation. Through the “My Next” program, iDEA provides resources for career exploration, college readiness, and verified acceptance into post-secondary institutions. This includes support for college entrance exams, dual credit courses, and advanced programs.
