Contributing Op-Ed columnist, John White who is the superintendent of the Recovery School District, wrote an article regarding the two recent announcements made about public education in New Orleans.

White argues that students have achieved a great deal of academic progress in New Orleans largely because of the implementation of charter schools with community- and educator-centered decisions to make a difference in kids’ lives. He says that “the path forward in New Orleans should be about building this system.”
