NewSchools Presents: Alexandra Bernadotte & Scott Given

NewSchools, a venture fund working to transform education by supporting entrepreneurs, released two more videos today from its Education Entrepreneurs series with opinions, stories and viewpoints from edupreneurs Alexandra Bernadotte and Scott Given.

“NewSchools Presents: Alexandra Bernadotte”

Bernadotte started the organization Beyond 12 to address the challenges as a first-generation college-bound student. Her organization helps students map the steps of college acceptance, completion and post graduation achievement. “We track students, we connect students and we couch students,” says Bernadotte to help students who are from low-income or ethnic minority backgrounds succeed at higher education. “NewSchools Presents: Scott Given”

Given started the nonprofit Unlocking Potential Schools to turnaround schools to provide students with the education that they deserve. The organization makes changes within schools to unlock new opportunities for learning. Given attributes the growth and possibilities for the future of education to the ability to collaborate in a “sharing network.” View the video below:
