Town Hall Recap: What’s Next in Learning 2023
On the 2023 edition of our annual “What’s next in learning?” Getting Smart Town Hall, we dug into some of the core drivers impacting learning today: the Pandemic Response, New Pathways and AI Everywhere. We then broke these categories down further into trends that we are seeing that are likely to have a big impact on the education ecosystem in 2023.
It’s no surprise that one of the biggest trends is the rise of Generative AI (GPT3) and Web3 – we’ve done a fair amount of coverage on these topics over the years, but it was great to hear from someone who is already having to use these tools in their studies.
We also dug into our New Pathways work, highlighting our latest publication Unbundled: Designing Personalized Pathways for Every Learner and talking about the shifting role and perception of higher education amidst workforce changes and a plethora of new opportunities.
As always, our attendees shared tons of great resources and you can find them at the link below.
What’s coming up next?
Our next Town Hall Raise the Bar: Policy Shaping Pathways for All will take place on February 28th at 1pm PT. We are thrilled to be joined by Amy Loyd, Assistant Secretary for the Office of Career, Technical, and Adult Education and Julie Lammers, Senior Vice President, Advocacy and Corporate Social Responsibility, to discuss how recent policies will drive school change through intentionally building and designing Pathways. One of these policies is Raise the Bar: Lead the World, a recent initiative from Secretary Cardona which will focus on:
- Creating Pathways for Global Engagements
- Ensure every student has a pathway to college and careers
- Provide every student a pathway to multilingualism
