Congressman George Miller's Comments
Congressman Miller:
“I feel like the ballplayer that has been in triple AAA ball, waiting to go to the show.” With Obama’s focus on change, “I now have that opportunity.”
“Many people realize that these conversations [about reform] should have been had a long time ago. It took the courage and imagination of this administration and this secretary to do that.”
“I think of NCLB sort of like the Bill Murray movie STRIPES, just trying to get the minds of the men made up and marching in a straight line for a moment.”
“You have got to become a resource now back to those districts and the districts have got to be open to what is happening. This can not be done one school at a time.”
“The most devastating thing to them is a five year plan,” says Miller in thinking about the timeline of a 3-4 year old child.
