I’m passionate about our work because:
I’m mesmerized by the future of learning and fundamentally believe in the importance of education as a pillar of our society and as a noble and agile profession.

My favorite learning experience is:
That moment when curiosity catalyzes into action. Becoming aware of your shift from ignorant to … no longer ignorant is one of the most uniquely incredible human experiences.

My role in three words:
Strategy & Opportunity Rabble-Rouser

I’m currently learning about:
Continuing to further my understanding of educational leadership, policy, governance and instructional technology design — on a (maybe) unrelated note, I also have a lifelong fascination with the art of stand-up comedy.

I’m currently working on:
I’m working on developing a plan to maximize Getting Smart’s impact on the next evolution of teaching and learning. I’m also in constant pursuit of bagging more 14-ers, improving my rock climbing grade and logging thousands of miles on bicycles of all kinds. If there’s any time left I’m probably making nachos or working on my inversions and hand balancing.

Eric started his education career in the classroom a decade ago, and has traversed careers in multimedia production and instructional technology bringing a unique expertise of sales, product design and scaling. In his time with Alma, the instructional technology company, he consulted with hundreds of education leaders trying to modernize their schools and has brought that experience, as well as a passion to improve the teaching profession itself, to Getting Smart. He believes that learners of all ages are entitled to growth and that we must prioritize teaching and learning with conviction. You’ll likely find him in the bike lane or with chalk on his hands and a smile on his face.
