Big Picture Leadership Conference

December 7, 2020 - December 10, 2020

“In South African culture, there exists the concept of Ubuntu. The idea that I am because we are. The notion that I am human because of the humanity which surrounds me. President Obama evoked Ubuntu at the memorial service for Nelson Mandela by remarking that we achieve our wholeness only when we share ourselves with others. That it is the invisible bonds which connect us that ultimately give us our strength.

These bonds are what provide us with the strength to breakthrough. And these bonds will give us the strength to define what is on the other side. At this year’s Leadership Conference, our goal is to resist the urge to return to normal. We’ll reject a willingness to accept what we’ve been dealt — these so-called “new norms” — and instead embrace “new forms.” Will transform, not reform.

For us, there is no neutral. In this we also pull from Reverend Angel Kyodo Williams’ Radical Dharma an invitation to not just interrogate one truth, but to interrogate them all. We’ll not be surprised to find on the other side kindness, creativity and community. Indeed, we demand it. Join us.
