YouTube, the online video network that gained fast popularity by giving people a place to create and publish videos, announced this week that it launched a YouTube exclusive to schools in an effort to bring student-appropriate content to the classroom - a challenge the company has faced for years.

The International Association for K-12 Online Learning (iNACOL) released "Cracking the Code: Synchronizing Policy and Practice for Performance-Based Learning" July, a report stating that it will take a "comprehensive policy redesign" to move toward competency-based learning beyond traditional K-12 advancement.
Utah Boosts Kindergarten Readiness with Literacy Games At Home
To address a growing Kindergarten readiness issue, the Utah legislature created UPSTART, a five year pilot program to test the potential of literacy software used at home. Preschool-age children in the program receive an individualized reading, math, and science curriculum with an emphasis on reading.
