Getting Smart Endorses Joe Biden and Kamala Harris

We’re at a hinge in history —perhaps the most influential period of time ever, where conditions and opportunities could improve for the nearly 8 billion human beings or where they could degrade — at times catastrophically.

We face a climate crisis, a global pandemic, accelerating income and wealth inequality, and persistent signs of racial injustice. But the affluence, ingenuity, and tools exist to solve these and other mounting problems. It all comes down to leadership — particularly American leadership.

America needs national leadership that is committed to truth and transparency; that believes all lives have value; that recognizes the richness and biodiversity of this planet and the rights of future generations to enjoy a healthy environment; and that values equity and opportunity for all including access to healthcare, education, and living-wage employment.

We see these values credibly articulated and represented in both the experience and campaign of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. We also anticipate the Biden-Harris administration would be composed of reputable administrators well-versed in governing and experts in their respective fields.

There has never been a better opportunity for individuals working together to make a difference — to lift, to heal, to care, to teach, to build, to invent, to express, to lead. There has never been a more important time to vote.

Getting Smart has never endorsed a presidential candidate. We are a bipartisan impact organization with a track record of working across traditional divides. However, this year is different. For our team, this election is about so much more than politics. It’s about credible, caring and competent leadership.

We endorse Joe Biden for President and Kamala Harris for Vice-President.

Thank you for making this statement! As you know, in a nonprofit we can't endorse a candidate so I appreciate when like-minded businesses come out and make a commitment to helping to change our political course.
