Curriculum Associates Gets Clever for Clients

Curriculum Associates, publishers of the new Ready series for Common Core and producer of i-Ready®, the adaptive K-12 Diagnostic and K-8 Instruction solution, inked a partnership with single sign-on system Clever to make it easier for schools to avoid the account setup problem.
“District administrators want to spend more time implementing the best instructional solution and less time worrying about how to collect and share data. With Clever that task is now much simpler, and by partnering with them, implementing i-Ready® becomes even easier,” says Rob Waldron, President and CEO of Curriculum Associates. “If we can get a district up and running faster, then the data we provide can be used more effectively and efficiently and students, in the end, will reap the benefits of a better academic experience.”
Clever, winner of SXSWedu LAUNCHedu, integrates with school student information systems in minutes and then makes it possible for students and teachers to use a variety of applications without a separate login for each.
“It drove me most crazy,” said Clever founder Dan Carroll, former teacher and tech leader, “the problem had been solved in so many industries but not education.” He set out to solve the problem with an application that could quickly get to scale.
Clever connects over 50 applications–including inBloom, MasteryConnect, TenMarks, Dreambox, All in Learning, and The Achievement Network–with over 3,000 schools
Last week Clever won the LAUNCHedu competition for K-12 edtech entrepreneurs.  “The caliber of the finalists selected to participate in this year’s LAUNCHedu competition was remarkable,” said Deborah Quazzo, LAUNCHedu co-chair and founder & managing partner of GSV Advisors. “All the presenters, but especially the winners, demonstrated innovative concepts that promise to positively transform the future of learning.”
Learning management systems typically don’t solve the mobile app problem.  Blended and social learning platforms may solve the same signon problem, but Clever is a lightweight way to address a growing problem.  Vendors pay Clever a small licensing fee per school.
Curriculum Associates made impressive progress in the last three years developing brand new Common Core print and digital series.
