Earlier this month, the Pacific Research Institute released a video that showcased the power of personal digital learning and the challenges that the parents, students and educators face in realizing its full potential.

The following video, directed by Nick Tucker and produced by Lur Films and Ozymandias Media, looks at the tools that are generating the tipping point in an educational technology revolution. The video profiles two examples of new, blended learning models that are generating real results: Rocketship Education in San Jose, CA and School of One in New York City, NY.

Rocketship Education’s schools are ranking high on the charts among 3,000 low-income schools in California, says Preston Smith in the video. Both schools use technology to personalize, individualize and customize learning for each of its students – a feat that is not found in many Brick-and-Mortar schools.

Despite what the New York Times published this week about online and blended learning, many educators, parents and students are in full support of personal digital learning tools and access to learning over the Internet. The possibilities and learning potential are limitless.

Students receive access to the best resources, educators and tools available. Parents can find effective solutions for students with special needs. Educators can tailor efforts and teaching to individual student needs.
