“Florida Virtual School is thrilled to name Senators Flores and Simmons and Representatives Grimsley and Stargel as recipients of the 2011 Education Leadership Award,” said Julie Young, President and CEO of Florida Virtual School.

The recipients offered a few comments about the award. Senator Anitere Flores said, “It is an honor to receive this year’s Florida Virtual School Education Leadership Award. Digital and online learning extends the reach of Florida’s excellent teachers by offering high-quality and cutting-edge technology-based curriculum that is customized to the student’s learning needs.”
“I’m honored to receive this award, and I thank Florida Virtual School for their leadership in helping to deliver quality education to Florida’s students. I look forward to our continued partnership as we work [toward] improving the delivery of education while making gains nationally,” said Representative Denis Grimsley.
Representative Kelli Stargel comments, “I am grateful to receive this honor and happy to fight the cause of Florida Virtual School.
