Sec. of Education Arne Duncan: "ESEA a Priority"

One little bit of news from the currently wrapping up question and answer session between Governor Jeb Bush and Secretary for Education Arne Duncan is that it looks like the DOE is making ESEA Reauthorization a priority.
According to a Twitter feed for #EIA10, Duncan has told the room of education reformers, “I’m spending 99.9 percent of my time making sure we get [ESEA reauthorization] done early in the year.”
At least the intention is there. The rumor mills have been swirling since early August and before that this Congress will not be touching ESEA for quite a while. It’s good to know a steward of education is at least sharply focused on what is probably the most immediate need in the current public education system’s need for reform.
