New Job Opening: Policy Analyst at Education Sector

Education Sector seeks a policy analyst to extend and build on our work across the areas of productivity, technology, and innovation in both K–12 and post-secondary education.

We seek a creative person who can push the boundaries of thought on what education innovation means, with a particular emphasis on opportunities to re-design educational systems, processes, relationships, and structures using technology. Because the growth of these innovations beyond isolated examples will depend substantially on the legal and regulatory environment in which they operate, the analyst’s charge will be to understand and write about new opportunities in light of public policy. This includes examining a range of federal, state, and local policies to identify key barriers to and opportunities for innovation, including state licensing and certification, regional and national accreditation, accountability, assessment, and data system policy, and credit transfer.
The successful applicant will build on Education Sector’s reputation for producing work that communicates these innovative ideas and concepts and helps policymakers and educators understand them. Examples include:

You’ll have the opportunity to work with a diverse array of outside experts and researchers along with key policymakers at the federal, state, and local level. And, you will execute strategies to effectively communicate ideas to policymakers, educators, the media, and other key audiences. Your ultimate goal will be to implement innovative educational reform strategies and ideas, leading to a direct impact on American education policy and practice.
This position requires an innovative thinker with a demonstrated ability to research, analyze, synthesize, and communicate complex public policy issues. The successful candidate will possess exemplary writing, research, and analytical skills. Outstanding communications and relationship-building skills are essential. Candidates should be comfortable working in a fastpaced, deadline-oriented, dynamic environment with multiple ongoing responsibilities and very high expectations for quality of work. The ability to work both independently and collaboratively on multiple projects and tasks is essential in this role.
