Company Description:

Founded by key talent from leading social networking, digital content, and education management organizations, this new Bay Area company is developing a breakthrough personalized learning platform for the K12 market.

Position Overview:

Work closely with engineering and product management leads to initially handle go-to-market activities during beta stage of platform rollout, migrating to a long term business and partnerships management role.  Select product management responsibilities as well. Immediate role entails managing outreach and coordination with select school districts; organizing teacher and student contributors; managing evolution of outbound communication for company; and interfacing with company’s Board and stakeholders from the for-profit and non-profit worlds.

Minimum Qualifications/Skills:
Exceptional communication and project management skills, along with entrepreneurial experience/skill set; direct experience in the classroom as a teacher or volunteer highly valuable; additional background in a high performance business setting essential, such as consulting, technology or investment banking; MBA preferred although not mandatory; alternatively, Masters in Education or Educational Technology very helpful.

2. Principals for innovative new high schools blending online/onsite learning

Company Description:
Recently formed NYC school management organization that will operate contract and charter secondary schools in the Northeast. Like www.NYCiSchool.org, these innovative schools will blend project-based learning with personalized online learning.

Locations:
Newark (Vailsburg) NJ, Brooklyn (Bed-Stuy) NY, Hartford CT, Baton Rouge LA

Position Overview:
Work with company management team and local school developer to plan for and open a new school in September 2010.

Minimum Qualifications/Skills:
Demonstrated commitment to urban education; belief that every student regardless of background can excel academically; track record of holding self and others accountable for outcomes; understand and use a variety of instructional strategies including online and project-based learning; success at mobilizing staff and community members toward common goals. Graduate degree required; Masters in Education or Educational Technology from a top university preferred.
