OpenEd: Changing the Way the World Learns

A New York Times article last week suggested that big ideas are dead.  At Open Education Solutions, we don’t think so—we want to change the way the world learns.  We see evidence of new approaches to learning that work better.  Following are four examples of how we’re helping to deploy new strategies, structures, and technologies.
Effective Teaching Takes Smart Systems.  OpenEd is supporting development of a Talent Academy, an effort to capture and share best practices and build tools for better K-12 human resource development.  We hope to learn with people that represent about 5% of American kids.
Effective Education Take Smart Tests.  OpenEd is working with the two state testing consortia to demonstrate current capabilities in online assessment scoring and investigating strategies to accelerate innovation.
Effective Schools Have Smart Designs. OpenEd worked with Newark to develop a blended alternative school and is doing the same with a Seattle area district.  Our colleague Kathi Littmann is helping to advance LA’s Promise.
The Shift to Personal Digital Learning Takes a Plan.  OpenEd is helping two states develop comprehensive plans to boost achievement and save money.  Plans consider academic options, student access, communications, and capacity development.
Want a school, district, or state that works smarter?  We can help.
