Edmodo Adds Enterprise Tools

With more than 63 million users, Edmodo is the leading K-12 learning platform. The intuitive platform makes it easy for teachers to create private groups and manage assignments. Teachers can create and share libraries of content. A unit of instruction can be easily differentiated for several groups.
Edmodo is a champion of open content and was featured in a Department of Education #GoOpen release last week noting that its resource-sharing platform, Edmodo Spotlight, into the core Edmodo experience.

Content on Spotlight is publicly available as open educational resources using a Creative Commons license and discoverable in the Learning Registry. Edmodo will give tailored recommendations of open educational resources to every teacher on the Edmodo platform. Edmodo will continue to be a free communication and collaboration platform for teachers and a free platform for anyone- whether or not they are signed into Edmodo- to discover the great content teachers share on Edmodo. Edmodo will give recognition to teachers whose OER content is shared widely.

Built in to U.S. Edmodo accounts, Snapshot gives teachers the power to regularly gauge student progress and take the guessing out of assessing.
While Edmodo is and will always be free for teachers, they recently launched three useful enterprise tools: PD Tools, Management, and Collections.
Edmodo PD Tools. Create and lead local or global professional learning communities (PLCs) to build capacity. Foster collaboration, award badges, and share best practices.
Edmodo Management. Gain insight into user activities through a secure, real-time interface with the ability to manage a customized subdomain, single sign-on and rostering, and premium analytics. Edmodo Management lets you oversee:

  • Administration: Manage your Edmodo community in a customized secure subdomain for your school. Verify educators and reset student passwords.
  • Daily Activity: Understand how teachers are using Edmodo with comprehensive data dashboards. Follow Posts, Assignments, and Groups to see where support is needed. Gain visibility into user accounts in the event of a safety or security concern.
  • Provisioning: Automate rollout and onboarding by integrating with existing systems.

Edmodo Collections: Manage and curate content to help teachers effectively augment their lessons and support student learning objectives. Collections includes a dynamic repository, usage analytics, and supports ratings and reviews. School districts can discover free and premium tools, apps, games, and resources.
